All you need to do is applying online to request a visa approval letter for visa on arrival then fly to Vietnam and process your visa as you arrive.

But the only thing you need to obtain ahead is the Visa Approval Letter. This visa approval letter can be requested online via a travel agent in Vietnam. Once you have this letter, just print this out and carry it on your trip. Present this letter at the Vietnam Immigration office at the airport and you will be stamped with the visa.

Take note that the visa can only be obtained from specific airports in Vietnam as mention in the list above, and thus, it’s only applicable to those who come to Vietnam on a plane. If you’re entering Vietnam through one of its land borders, then you’ll have to acquire a different visa (e-visa or embassy visa).
